He has one of the most distinctive voices in music, and is a huge influence on many many other artists. Some people think he is god! "I'm always amazed that people take what I say seriously. I don't even take what I am seriously," David Bowie.
Bowie had released several albums before the public really noticed him with the song "Space Oddity", which skipped to the top 5 charts of the UK Singles Charts in 1969. In 1972 he reached his glam rock era, and took the figure of Ziggy Stardust, performing (one of my favorites) "Starman". In 75' he came out with "Fame", in 1980, "Ashes to Ashes", in 1983 with "Lets Dance", "Modern Love", and "China Girl", as they reached a commercial peak.
Bowie was rewarded many honors and rewards. He has been making beautiful music for decades. Everyone I know with a dance mix, or something along those lines, in there ipods or computers have a couple Bowie songs in them, and I think thats how he would want it to be. Oh, and as for Riley, if you ever meet him, Just add water.
