"If you ain't got no money, you got the blues," Howlin' Wolf. Blues music has been around since the late 1800's from Mississippi John Hurt, and W.C. Handy to Son House and, Robert Johnson. There is still a lot of good blues music today, it just advanced a LOT. Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, CCR (Blues Rock) all use blues scales and the blues progression. Most people are more familiar with Eric Clapton, Chuck Berry, BB King, Buddy Guy, Albert King, SRV as the "knew age blues music." There is/was a reason why these artists have been so big and popular. They followed previous musicians, studied them, pioneered there music and created a little different feel to there bands... Basically you gotta steal music and recreate it in your own way...
