It's late, I have had a long day, so here is some "not so" detailed info. on an extravagant guitar legend and all around seemed to me like a great guy. Born June 20, 1924 and Died June 30, 2001. He created, along with Owen Bradley, the smoother country music style known as the Nashville sound. Among many honors, Atkins received 14 Grammy Awards as well as the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, nine Country Music Association Instrumentalist of the Year awards, and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Now that looks good on a resume.
